Hon. Orekoya Engages Somolu Constituents, Awards Bursary to 147 Students

Hon. Abiodun Abimbola Orekoya, representing Somolu Constituency I at the Lagos State House of Assembly, engaged with constituents at a stakeholders’ meeting. He discussed his work and announced educational support for students. The event, themed “Governance in Action: The Gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” took place at the Somolu Banquet Hall on Thursday.

Addressing a large gathering, Hon. Orekoya reviewed his performance since 2023, highlighting his efforts to facilitate infrastructure projects in Somolu. He mentioned the ongoing construction of a modern sports facility, which aims to promote youth development and community wellness.

Hon. Orekoya announced that 147 students would receive benefits from his annual bursary scheme to support education and youth empowerment. He also pledged a full-time scholarship to three students graduating with a first-class degree, celebrating their academic achievements.

Other dignitaries also spoke at the meeting, praising Hon. Orekoya’s dedication.
Council Chairman, Hon. Ashimi Lateef, praised the lawmaker’s efforts and discussed his administration’s first 40 days, asking constituents for feedback.

GAC Member, Senator Anthony Adefuye, commended Hon. Orekoya and encouraged other stakeholders to contribute to the community’s progress.

Lagos State Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Seun Osiyemi (Sean Pee), expressed his commitment to supporting grassroots communities in Somolu and Bariga.

Former Sole Administrator of Somolu, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu (Dullar), and Hon. Williams Lawanson also commended the lawmaker.
The stakeholders’ meeting, held across all 40 constituencies in Lagos State, provided a platform for dialogue and feedback to address citizens’ needs.

The event included public figures, party leaders, market leaders, religious leaders, CDC and CDA executives, youths, and community personalities. Constituents applauded Hon. Orekoya’s transparency, accessibility, and continued service.

It is noteworthy that this Stakeholders’ Meeting was held simultaneously across all 40 constituencies in Lagos State, serving as a vital platform for feedback, dialogue, and collective requests from citizens toward addressing their needs and aspirations.
