
A Magistrate Court sitting in Ebute-Metta, Lagos, has ordered that the case file of 55-year-old NURTW official, Shamusideen Oladiti, be forwarded to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice.
Oladiti, also known as Shamelon, was arraigned on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, on a three-count charge bordering on unlawful homicide, conspiracy, and grievous assault.
According to court documents, he allegedly assaulted Iman Ramon, a dispatch rider, with fist blows on August 27, 2025, at Lewis Street, Lagos Island. Ramon later died from his injuries at Lagos Island General Hospital, Marina.
The defendant was also accused of conspiring with others still at large to commit a felony on September 17, 2025, and separately inflicting grievous harm on Omale Samuel on the same date.
Prosecutor SP Anthony Iyeye of the Legal/Prosecution Section, Panti, Yaba, read out the charges, but the defendant’s plea was not taken.
Magistrate thereafter directed that the case file be duplicated and sent to the DPP within 30 days for advice, before adjourning the matter to October 28, 2025, for mention.
The Investigating Police Officer (IPO) was identified as ASP Johnson Olumuyiwa of D27 SCID, Yaba.
