Diddy Sentenced to Over Four Years in Prison for Prostitution-Related Offences

American rapper and music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has been sentenced to more than four years in prison after being convicted on two counts of transportation for prostitution.

The 55-year-old was sentenced on Friday at a New York federal courthouse by Judge Arun Subramanian, who acknowledged Combs’ contributions to the entertainment industry but underscored the seriousness of his crimes.

“The court has to consider all of your history here,” Subramanian said. “You abused women — physically, emotionally, and psychologically. I know you feel you are in a dark place right now, but these crimes were serious. You and your family will get through this — there is a light at the end of the tunnel.”

The judge also praised Cassie Ventura and Jane Doe—two of the women who testified against Combs—as “strong and courageous” for coming forward to share their experiences.

According to court records, Combs was found guilty of organizing and financing interstate flights to arrange sexual encounters—referred to as “freak-offs”—involving his girlfriends and male sex workers.

Combs was arrested in September 2024 following a wave of allegations from over 120 accusers, including one minor, citing kidnapping, blackmail, abuse, and prostitution-related crimes. In July 2025, a federal jury convicted him of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution related to incidents involving Ventura and Jane Doe.

He had already spent 14 months in pre-trial detention at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York.

While Combs was acquitted of the more serious charges—sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, and racketeering conspiracy—the court rejected his defense team’s plea for a time-served sentence.

Federal prosecutors had sought an 11-year term, arguing that the artist showed “no remorse” and had left his victims “terrified and traumatized.” The judge, however, handed down a sentence of four years and several months.

The ruling marks a stunning downfall for the Grammy-winning producer, entrepreneur, and founder of Bad Boy Records, once considered one of the most influential figures in global hip-hop and entertainment.
