Burna Boy, Wizkid, Ayra Starr Eye Grammy Glory as They Submit Entries for 2026 Awards

Nigerian music heavyweights Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Ayra Starr have officially submitted their latest works for consideration at the 2026 Grammy Awards, setting the stage for another strong showing by Afrobeats on the global stage.

Burna Boy entered his acclaimed album No Sign of Weakness in both the Album of the Year and Best Global Album categories. His chart-topping singles Last Last and For My Hand were also submitted for Record of the Year and Song of the Year, while Love will compete in the Best African Music Performance category.

Wizkid followed suit with his recently released project Morayo, which he entered for Album of the Year and Best Global Album. His soulful track Piece of My Heart is up for Record of the Year and Song of the Year, while his collaboration with Ayra Starr, Gimme Dat, was submitted for Best African Music Performance.

Ayra Starr, who has continued to solidify her place among Africa’s brightest stars, entered her sizzling single Hot Body for Record of the Year and Song of the Year. She also features alongside Wizkid in the Best African Music Performance category for Gimme Dat.

The submissions come ahead of the official Grammy nominations announcement, where all three artists are widely tipped to be strong contenders. Their entries underscore Nigeria’s growing dominance in the global music scene and the continued rise of Afrobeats as a force in world entertainment.
