
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja on Sunday, October 12, for Rome, Italy, to participate in the Aqaba Process Heads of State and Government-Level Meeting, which will focus on addressing the growing security challenges in West Africa.
The high-level meeting, scheduled to begin on October 14, will bring together world leaders, security experts, and international partners to deliberate on strategies for tackling terrorism, violent extremism, and transnational organised crime across the Sahel and surrounding regions.
President Tinubu is expected to highlight Nigeria’s counterterrorism efforts, regional cooperation initiatives, and the need for greater global support to stabilise the subregion.
He will be accompanied by key government officials and security advisers. The President is expected to return to Nigeria after the conclusion of the summit.
