President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday received Denmark’s richest man and Chief Executive Officer of Bestseller, Mr. Anders Holch Povlsen, at the State House in Abuja.

The visit by the Danish billionaire, whose global fashion group owns brands such as Jack & Jones, Vero Moda, and Only, is believed to be part of ongoing discussions to explore investment opportunities in Nigeria’s manufacturing and retail sectors.

During the meeting, President Tinubu reiterated his administration’s commitment to creating a business-friendly environment and attracting foreign direct investment to boost the economy, generate jobs, and expand local production capacity.

He commended Povlsen for his interest in Nigeria and assured that the government is implementing key reforms to strengthen investor confidence, improve infrastructure, and reduce barriers to doing business.

Mr. Povlsen, on his part, expressed optimism about Nigeria’s market potential, especially in fashion, textiles, and youth entrepreneurship, noting that his company is open to partnerships that will drive growth and empower local industries.

The meeting underscores Nigeria’s renewed engagement with international investors as part of efforts to diversify the economy and position the country as Africa’s leading investment destination.
