In a goodwill message released on Tuesday, Senator Abiru described Governor Sanwo-Olu’s 60th birthday not just as a celebration of age, but a tribute to a “lifetime of service and exceptional leadership” that has transformed Lagos into a model for good governance across Nigeria.
“On behalf of the good people of Lagos East Senatorial District, I extend our warmest congratulations to our esteemed Governor, His Excellency Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, on the occasion of his 60th birthday,” Abiru stated.
The Senator commended the governor’s successful implementation of the T.H.E.M.E.S. agenda—and its enhanced version, T.H.E.M.E.S+—as a blueprint for inclusive and progressive development across the state.
“Through the T.H.E.M.E.S. agenda, and now the expanded T.H.E.M.E.S+, you have demonstrated uncommon commitment to inclusive development. Under your leadership, Lagos has recorded tremendous progress in infrastructure, healthcare, education, transportation, and social welfare,” the statement read.
Abiru also lauded the governor’s hands-on and empathetic approach to governance, which he said has improved the quality of life for millions of residents and reinforced Lagos’s reputation as a hub of innovation and responsible leadership.
“As you mark this significant milestone, we join your family, friends, colleagues, and all Lagosians in celebrating your life of purpose and impact,” he said, praying that Governor Sanwo-Olu would continue to enjoy wisdom, strength, and good health in the years ahead.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, who was born on June 25, 1965, is currently serving his second term as the executive governor of Lagos State.
