In a strategic move to enhance grassroots governance, Hon. Ege Olusegun Adebisi, the member representing Ojo Constituency 01 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, engaged the sixth Legislative Arm of Iba Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in a capacity-building session on Friday, August 22, 2025.
The session, which took place at Crown City Resorts along Atan Road, Ogun State, was part of a Legislative/Executive Parley aimed at fostering synergy between both arms of government for more impactful service delivery.
As the guest lecturer, Hon. Ege Olusegun Adebisi shared deep insights into legislative processes, parliamentary procedures, and effective representation strategies. He emphasized the importance of legislators building strategic partnerships to drive development within their communities.
“The strength of a legislative council lies in its collaboration with the executive,” Hon. Adebisi said. “To truly represent your constituents and bring about developmental projects, a harmonious relationship with the executive is not optional, but essential.”
The lawmaker also took time to outline the specific responsibilities of the principal officers within the legislative council, encouraging councilors to embody accountability, diligence, and integrity in the discharge of their duties.
The knowledge-sharing session is expected to significantly boost the operational efficiency of Iba LCDA’s legislative council, strengthening its ability to deliver responsive and responsible governance to the people.
