In a proactive effort to increase voter participation and civic engagement, a Free Online Voter’s Card Pre-Registration Exercise began today in the Igbo Elerin area of Iba LCDA, Ojo Constituency 01.

The initiative, running from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily, offers residents the opportunity to complete their online pre-registration for the Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) at no cost. The exercise is part of a broader campaign to support the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) process as mandated by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

To ensure maximum participation, organizers have announced that the registration centre will relocate to another location within Igbo Elerin tomorrow, an effort to bring the services closer to different clusters of residents within the community.

The programme is sponsored by Hon. Olusegun Adebisi Ege, Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, representing Ojo Constituency 01, in collaboration with Sanni Omolaja Shakiru, Member of the Lagos State Youth Parliament.

Speaking at the flag-off of the registration drive, Hon. Ege ably represented emphasized the importance of voter education and early registration. “This is not just about elections. It’s about empowering our people to participate in governance,” he said.

Facilitator Sanni Omolaja Shakiru also highlighted the youth-focused dimension of the programme. “Our goal is to ensure that no eligible person is left out. With this outreach, we are taking the process to the people,” he noted.

Residents have been urged to take advantage of the free service, especially first-time voters, those who recently relocated, or individuals needing to update their details.

The exercise is expected to continue in other parts of the constituency in the coming weeks.
