Adelabu Reaffirms Nigeria’S Leadership in Africa’S Energy Future at Cape Town Forum

The Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has reaffirmed Nigeria’s central role in shaping Africa’s energy future during the 2025 Africa Energy Forum held in Cape Town, South Africa.

In a statement issued by his spokesman, Bolaji Tunji, Adelabu emphasised that despite the global shift toward cleaner energy, Nigeria’s natural resources—especially hydrocarbons—remain critical to its economic and energy security.

At a closed-door ministerial roundtable, Adelabu shared Nigeria’s strategy for aligning policy, regulation, and financing to attract investment and improve efficiency in the energy sector. The session gathered key public and private stakeholders to fast-track energy projects and boost investor confidence.

Speaking on a panel focused on energy transition, the minister underscored Nigeria’s balanced approach to decarbonisation, stressing that a successful transition requires a robust and inclusive policy framework.
