The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has re-elected Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi as its State Chairman for a second term, following the party’s state congress held today at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.

Ojelabi, a pastor and former Commissioner for Rural Development in the state, was returned unopposed after party leaders and delegates from all 376 wards reached a consensus on his continuation in office.

The congress, described by organisers as peaceful and orderly, witnessed the affirmation of the new APC State Executive Council by delegates through a voice vote. Several senior party stalwarts, including Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his deputy Obafemi Hamzat, former governor Akinwunmi Ambode, and members of the party’s Governance Advisory Council (GAC) were present to show support.

Addressing party faithful after his confirmation, Ojelabi pledged to deepen unity, strengthen grassroots mobilisation and enhance inclusion of youth and women within party structures as the APC prepares for future political challenges.

Governor Sanwo-Olu commended the leadership continuity and urged the re-elected executives to focus on internal cohesion and organisational growth as the party positions itself ahead of key electoral contests, including the 2027 general elections.

The exercise signals a unified front for the ruling party in Nigeria’s commercial capital, with stakeholders projecting organisational stability and readiness for upcoming political engagements.
