BREAKING: ASUU to Begin Two-Week Warning Strike Tomorrow After Expiration of Ultimatum

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has announced that it will commence a two-week nationwide warning strike tomorrow, following the expiration of the two-week ultimatum earlier issued to the Federal Government to address its long-standing demands.

In a statement released late Friday, the union said the decision was reached after exhaustive consultations across its chapters nationwide. ASUU accused the government of neglecting key issues, including unpaid allowances, poor funding of public universities, and failure to implement previous agreements.

The union emphasized that the warning strike is intended to compel urgent government action, warning that continued inaction could lead to a total and indefinite shutdown of academic activities across Nigerian universities.

Meanwhile, the Federal Government has appealed to ASUU to reconsider the decision, assuring that efforts are ongoing to resolve all pending matters.
