BREAKING NEWS: Police Invite Sujimoto CEO Over Alleged $556,000 Fraud and Criminal Misappropriation

The Nigeria Police Force has invited Olasijibomi Ogundele, the Chief Executive Officer of Sujimoto Luxury Construction Limited, for questioning over alleged involvement in a $556,000 advance fee fraud and criminal misappropriation.

According to sources within the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Abuja, the invitation followed a detailed petition submitted by an aggrieved business partner, who accused the luxury real estate developer of obtaining the funds under false pretences. The petitioner alleged that the money—equivalent to over ₦800 million—was paid as an advance for a high-end property investment deal that never materialised.

Investigators are said to be probing claims that Ogundele diverted the funds to personal and unrelated business uses, contrary to the terms of the agreement. The FCID has reportedly opened a formal case file and invited the Sujimoto CEO to clarify his role in the transaction and respond to the allegations.

A senior police officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed that the invitation was part of a broader investigation into financial misconduct involving several high-value real estate transactions. “We are treating this matter seriously, given the amount involved and the nature of the allegations. Mr. Ogundele has been invited to assist with our inquiries,” the officer stated.

Efforts to obtain a response from Sujimoto Luxury Construction Limited proved unsuccessful as calls and messages to the company’s media department were not returned at the time of filing this report.

Sujimoto Luxury Construction Limited, one of Nigeria’s most prominent luxury real estate firms, is known for developing upscale residential and commercial properties in Lagos and Abuja. The company has long positioned itself as a symbol of premium architecture and modern Nigerian entrepreneurship.

The case, now under active police investigation, adds to growing scrutiny of high-end property developers and the integrity of large-scale investment deals within Nigeria’s booming luxury real estate sector.
