BREAKING: PDP National Convention Expels Wike, Fayose, Anyanwu, Others for Anti-Party Activities

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taken one of its most far-reaching disciplinary decisions in recent years, expelling several high-profile members — including former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, former Ekiti Governor Ayo Fayose, former National Secretary Sen. Samuel Anyanwu, senior lawyer Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN), Hon. Austin Nwachukwu, and others — over alleged anti-party activities.

The decision was reached on Saturday during the party’s 2025 National Convention holding in Ibadan, Oyo State, and was immediately ratified by an overwhelming majority of accredited delegates.

According to party insiders, the move signals a firm shift toward restoring unity, internal discipline, and strategic focus as the PDP intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections. Party leaders say the long-standing internal sabotage and factional rivalry had become a major obstacle to rebuilding the party’s national structure.

A senior party official described the expulsions as “a decisive turning point,” insisting that the PDP can no longer tolerate actions that undermine its collective interests.

Further details, including official statements from the newly constituted National Working Committee, are expected shortly.
