Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy has once again made history after selling out the 16,000-capacity Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, during a stop on his “No Sign of Weakness” tour.

The sold-out concert, held on December 12, saw the Grammy-winning artist deliver an electrifying performance, with the arena filled to capacity as fans sang along to his hits throughout the night.

The biggest moment of the evening came when Newark Mayor Ras Baraka joined Burna Boy on stage to present him with a framed proclamation officially declaring the day “Burna Boy Day.” The honour recognises Burna Boy as the first African artist to sell out the Prudential Center, a major milestone in global music history.
Videos of the presentation quickly went viral across social media, with fans and industry observers celebrating the achievement as another powerful statement of Afrobeats’ growing dominance on the global stage.
The Newark sell-out adds to Burna Boy’s expanding list of international accolades, further cementing his status as one of Africa’s most influential and globally recognised music exports.
