Afrobeats megastar Davido has once again captured hearts — not just with his music, but with his unmatched generosity. The singer recently donated ₦3 million to a Lagos State University (LASU) student and popular X (formerly Twitter) user, David Obadiah, known online as “Baddy of Lagos,” to support his corrective leg surgery.
The student, who had taken to the platform to solicit public support for his bow-leg correctional procedure, was met with an overwhelming surprise when Davido intervened with the donation.
“Jesus! @davido sent me ₦3m for my correctional surgery. God bless you sir… my idolo,” Baddy wrote in a post that quickly went viral.
In addition to this heartfelt gesture, Davido extended his kindness to others. He reportedly gifted ₦5 million to the administrator of one of his fan pages, simply to help them afford a new hairstyle — a random act of kindness that shocked and delighted fans.
Davido’s reach of goodwill also crossed national borders. The award-winning artist pledged $5,000 to a Ghanaian TikToker who impressed him with a near-perfect cover of his hit track With You, showcasing his commitment to supporting talent wherever it is found.
This isn’t the first time the singer has stepped in to change lives. Through the Davido Adeleke Foundation, established in 2022, he has led multiple impactful donations — from giving ₦237 million to 424 orphanages across Nigeria in 2021, to pledging ₦300 million to youth-focused organizations in 2023 as part of his birthday celebration.
Davido continues to show that being a superstar goes beyond the stage — it’s about using influence and wealth to uplift others and spark hope where it’s needed most.
