Hon. Ege Olusegun Adebisi Launches ‘Oju Ege’ Eye Care Outreach, Benefiting 300 Residents in Iba LCDA

Hon. Comr. Ege Olusegun Adebisi, member of the Lagos State House of Assembly (LSHA) representing Ojo Constituency I, has flagged off a free eye care initiative tagged ‘Oju Ege’, reaching more than 300 residents of Iba Local Council Development Area (LCDA).

The outreach, which held on Wednesday at Iba, offered beneficiaries free eye tests, medicated glasses, drugs, and eye drops. Medical professionals were on ground to provide personalized care for residents from Ijagemo, Iba Town, Igbo Elerin, Okokomaiko and surrounding communities.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Adebisi, ably represented said the initiative was part of his commitment to improving access to quality healthcare in grassroots communities. He explained that many residents silently endure vision-related problems due to cost and lack of access, a gap the ‘Oju Ege’ project seeks to bridge.

“This program is not just about giving glasses; it is about restoring hope and improving quality of life. Good vision impacts education, productivity, and overall wellbeing,” he said.

Grateful residents commended the lawmaker’s gesture, describing the intervention as timely and impactful. “This is more than just glasses; it’s a new way to see the world,” said one beneficiary from Iba Town.

The initiative, whose name ‘Oju Ege’ translates as ‘Ege’s Eyes’ in Yoruba, is designed as a flagship healthcare program under Hon. Adebisi’s constituency projects. According to the lawmaker, the outreach will continue on Thursday, September 11, at the Ojo Town Hall for Day Two, extending its coverage to more residents of Ojo Local Government.

Hon. Adebisi has consistently championed grassroots development through people-oriented interventions, and with the launch of ‘Oju Ege’, he reaffirmed his resolve to uplift the lives of his constituents.
