Lagos Agrithon 2025 Grand Finale: Empowering Agrinnovators and Agripreneurs

The Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture and Food Systems, under the leadership of the Honourable Commissioner, Ms. Abisola Olusanya, hosted the Lagos Agrithon 2025 Grand Finale on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at The Workforce, Gbagada, Lagos.

The Lagos Agrithon is a pioneering agricultural food system hackathon designed to empower agripreneurs with innovative, technology-driven solutions to real challenges within the Lagos agrifood ecosystem. The initiative provides a dynamic platform for startups, innovators, and teams working in agriculture and across the food systems value chain.

This year’s edition attracted over 1,000 participants, from which 36 participants emerged as finalists after going through a rigorous selection process. These finalists showcased creative ideas spanning smart farming, food processing, cold chain management, and waste management. Over the course of the program, participants engaged in pitch sessions and intensive mentorship aimed at refining their solutions for real-world application.

The Lagos Agrithon 2025 Grand Finale featured a distinguished panel of independent jurors comprising experts, investors, and industry leaders who assessed each team’s innovation, scalability, and potential impact on Lagos State’s food systems.

In her address, the Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Systems, Ms. Abisola Olusanya, commended the creativity and resilience demonstrated by the participants. She emphasized the Lagos State Government’s unwavering commitment to fostering youth-driven innovations that advance food security, job creation, and economic growth across the state. Ms. Olusanya also highlighted the importance of collaboration among members of the Lagos Agrinnovation Club, urging them to continue working together to build sustainable solutions that address emerging agricultural challenges.

The Lagos Agrithon 2025 marks another significant milestone in the state’s efforts to build a thriving, technology-enabled, and future-ready agricultural ecosystem, positioning Lagos as a leader in agritech innovation and food system transformation.
