The Lagos State Government has named popular content creator Ayomiposi Oluwadahunsi, widely known as Mandykiss, as an ambassador for its Lagos State Kicks Against Drug Abuse (LASKADA) initiative.
The announcement was made on Tuesday, September 30, by the Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mobolaji Ogunlende, who explained that the appointment followed Mandykiss’ recent public declaration to attempt a Guinness World Record in a venture the government considered misaligned with societal values.
Ogunlende noted that the Sanwo-Olu administration opted to guide and redirect her influence rather than dismiss it.
“A society thrives when it listens, engages, and redirects its future with compassion and purpose,” Ogunlende said.
He explained that after her controversial record attempt announcement, the state engaged Mandykiss in candid discussions, assessing the implications while offering her healthier and more constructive paths forward.
According to him, the decision reflects the state government’s focus on mental health, emotional wellness, and youth empowerment, ensuring that individuals with significant influence among young people are steered toward positive impact.
“Mandykiss has now embraced a purpose-driven cause, standing for something greater than herself. She has been appointed an Ambassador of LASKADA, partnering with us to combat drug abuse and substance misuse among Lagos youths,” Ogunlende added.
The Commissioner emphasized that Mandykiss’ new role illustrates “transformation rather than cancellation,” describing it as a pivotal moment that highlights the importance of compassion, guidance, and purposeful engagement in redirecting youth potential.
With this appointment, Mandykiss is expected to leverage her platform to raise awareness and support government efforts in curbing drug abuse among young people in the state.
