Sanwo-Olu Inaugurates New LASU Governing Council, Charges Members on Excellence

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday inaugurated the newly constituted Governing Council of Lagos State University (LASU), urging members to uphold the institution’s reputation as one of Nigeria’s leading state universities.

The inauguration ceremony took place at the Lagos House, Ikeja, with the governor flanked by the Vice Chancellor of LASU, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, and the newly appointed Council Chairman, Mr. Babatunde Ogala (SAN).

Sanwo-Olu said the new council carries a “critical responsibility to advance academic excellence, strengthen institutional governance, and ensure LASU remains globally competitive.”

Mr. Babatunde Ogala (SAN), the Council Chairman, expressed gratitude for the trust placed in the team and pledged that the council would work collaboratively with the university management to deliver on its mandate.

Other members of the governing council were also present at the ceremony, which marks the official commencement of their tenure.
