Grief enveloped the Somolu community on Sunday as residents, political leaders, and loved ones gathered to bid farewell to a serving councillor who passed away after a brief illness at midnight.
The late councillor, who was a member of the 10th Somolu Legislative Arm, represented Ward F (Bajulaiye–Folagoro area) with dedication and commitment. Until her death, she also served as the House Committee Chairman on Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA), where she championed initiatives to support women and improve livelihoods in the council.
She was laid to rest this afternoon amidst tears and heartfelt tributes from colleagues, constituents, and family members, who described her as a passionate leader and a voice for the vulnerable.
Her passing has left a deep void in the legislative council and the Somolu community at large.
